Felt Flower Accent Lantern

Black and White Felt Flower Accent Lantern

I have wanted to try a fabric or sheer overlay on one of my lanterns but I just couldn't make it come together, it needed an accent. Finally I have found one! These Felt flowers make the perfect accent for a lantern that needs just a little something. My next project may be to cover an entire lantern in these flowers, now that would be pretty!

Loving Lavender Baby Shower

Loving Lavender Baby Shower

A purple affair! A friend of mine is expecting her first baby and it's a girl! I was lucky enough to be able to help with her baby shower and it turned out so wonderful! Of the many adorable features the one I will showcase is the large puff lantern (but I will show you the other fun things because I can't help myself :)

The Puff Lantern, which I made as a lamp to be used in her nursery after the party, is the center white puff. It is surrounded by white and purple tissue paper puffs and two purple tissue paper flower bursts (Not quite sure what to call those). Here are some close ups of the lantern.

There were so many other cute things at this shower that I can't help but show them all to you. From the clothes line filled with the parent's own baby clothes to the homemade cake and cake pops, this baby shower was one of the cutest events I have ever been lucky enough to be a part of. I hope you love it as much as I do!

The invitation, custom designed by me, using a picture of the mommy-to-be which was inspired by one seen on Pinterest and the alphabet invitation design inspired by this baby shower invitations - letter boy.

A photo signature frame was made for all the guests to sign for the nursery.

Purple and pink cake pops were made for guests to have as party favors inspired by my daughter's Purple Polka Dot Party.

A three layer chocolate cake with buttercream frosting (recipe here) tinted purple, complete with purple butterflies that were inspired by this Love and Lavender Baby Shower, which also inspired the photo tree with tissue paper flowers shown below.

A clothes line of baby clothes and shoes from both of the parents-to-be were hung as a banner behind the dessert table. The parents each had the shirts that they wore home from the hospital when they were born that we put in the center of the clothes line. We also included baby pictures from their childhood.
